The Road to Want (Wanat) Part 2
Nov 7 at 11:11am by David Tate
Below is the complete after-action report regarding the Battle of Want (Wanat). I finally figured out how to attach a pdf file to my blog so I apologize for the delay and my attempt to write it out for you.
This is a very detailed description of the battle for anyone interested in this incredible show of bravery and courage from the American fighting man.

2Have you actually spoken to any of the remaining members of the platoon that was there? Where can I get the declassified 44 page document as mentioned in the NYT article?

3Jim,
I have not yet spoken to any of the survivors., but am working with someone who is currently doing so (although the info is not privy to me yet). My life in general is very busy, so it’s hard for me to take the time to track these gentlemen down. I do hope to start doing so soon. This battle fascinates me and I believe it will be an iconic fight of this war.
As for the report: I will be posting the full, original report in the next few days.
