While my wife is asking me the same questions, the fact is, we as a family, cannot afford it. If things go good, in the sense of me getting this opportunity full time, I do want to return. Unfortunately since I have been here, my company has ordered unpaid furloughs, which means money is even tighter than before.

I have seen these posters often. I have also seen posters of Miami beach. To me they represent a better time and nothing more.

Ok, call me paronoid....but why would these guys have posters of the Swat Valley unless it is an indirect sign of their support of the Taliban who now controls that area! I'm a Mom...can you tell :)

Have you decided whether you will return to Afghanistan during or after the summer months to document the troop surge that we hope and pray will result in positive improvements for the Afghan people and for the world?

Thank you for sharing a glimpse of the reality as it stands today.
