I couldn’t agree more. While I was in Iraq during OIF 3 deployed from 3rd BDE, 3rd ID out of Ft Benning, GA, ALL of the officers in our unit, plus CSMs and 1SGs, were awarded Bronze Stars. The f*cked up part? Most of them NEVER left the FOB! I had soldiers who genuinely earned the medal, but our “allotment” was depleted, so they got Army Commendation medals instead. The Bronze Star now means nothing.
